Ensuring safety and quality of care
Qualifications, registration and code of conduct
I hold an internationally recognised ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology and Anatomy and Physiology awarded by Harrogate and District FT NHS Natural Health School. The school is the first NHS hospital trust endorsed complementary therapies training establishment in the UK.

Being committed to providing a professional standard and quality of care, I hold Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) membership. In addition, I am listed on the FHT Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register, which has been approved by the Professional Standards Agency under its Accredited Registers programme. My practice is guided by the FHT's professional code of conduct, and as a registered nurse I am also subject to the NMC code of professional conduct for nurses.
Evidence-based practice
I am aware of the importance of evidence-based practice in delivering the best possible care due to my work for the NHS and I therefore try to apply this to my role as a complementary therapist as well. My treatment plans are designed to deliver reflexology safely and effectively bearing in mind clients’ medical history and their needs when coming for treatment. I use patient centred questionnaires such as MYCAW and MYMoP (and VAS for assessment of pain) to evaluate treatment effectiveness and outcomes. Once a course of planned treatments has been completed, a treatment report is sent to a client’s referring primary healthcare provider. Professional registration incorporates a requirement for CPD and I therefore regularly engage with training and learning opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills for the benefit of my clients.
COVID-19 Prevention
I follow infection prevention guidance published by the government and the FHT.
